The legendary Rob Garrett’s “KING OF DIAMONDS” Vegas residency show is still thrilling audiences in the “Alexis Park Modern Showrooms” at Alexis Park Las Vegas Hotel.
Music icon Neil Diamond is one of the greatest and most admired singer/songwriters in pop/rock music history.
Besides being one of the biggest selling and record-breaking touring artists ever, he’s also composed the soundtrack of our lives — including some of the most recognized songs on the planet.
In the beginning of 2018, shortly before his 77th year, Neil Diamond announced his retirement from performing after being diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease.
However, Diamond’s live performance legacy continues to be celebrated for audiences worldwide through Las Vegas entertainer Rob Garrett, widely regarded as the top Neil Diamond tribute artist.
Ask Google “who is the best Neil Diamond tribute artist,” and you’ll hear the same name.
Like his idol, Rob Garrett was a Brooklyn, New York native.
In May 1974, his parents relocated from New York City to Las Vegas, where, in 1976, he witnessed his first Neil Diamond concert when Diamond debuted in Las Vegas to record crowds at the Aladdin Theater for the Performing Arts (now “PH Live”) in July 1976.
Garrett went on to see him multiple times across the country—right up until Diamond’s last American show at the LA Forum on August 12, 2017.
In 1980, Garrett started his own band, “Rock n Roll Heaven,” and enjoyed a long and successful run in Las Vegas and across the nation before transitioning from lead singer of a cover band to a tribute artist dedicated to one of his childhood heroes.
In 1995, Garrett was hand-picked by the legendary Paul Revere to portray Neil Diamond in the Honolulu production of “Legends in Concert”.
What was meant to be a short engagement turned into a three-year residency.
By August 1998, Garrett was back in Vegas and continued to perform with “Legends” for another two years before deciding to create his own tribute production.
He began a busy tour circuit, building a strong worldwide fan community along the way—earning the title “King of Diamonds.”
He continues to draw packed houses nationwide, often in venues fit for superstars.
Garrett has also earned several honors, including “Male Tribute Artist of the Year.”
“Since he (Diamond) announced his retirement, I’ve felt a strong sense of responsibility to keep his legacy alive for future generations. It’s something I never get tired of doing,” he said.
On May 19, Las Vegas Mayor Carolyn Goodman officially proclaimed the date “Rob Garrett Day,” commemorating Rob’s 50 years as a Las Vegas resident and 44 years as a professional Vegas performer.
Now in 2025, Garrett celebrates 45 years as an active Las Vegas entertainer, with the last 30 years devoted solely to paying tribute to the now-retired Neil Diamond.
It has been said that no other tribute artist is so closely identified with the original performer as Garrett, who has performed his show at more Las Vegas venues than any other tribute artist.
Since the June closing of “A Beautiful website Noise” (the Broadway jukebox musical based on Diamond’s life story), Rob Garrett’s “King of Diamonds” show has become the only continuous Neil Diamond tribute in the U.S..
